It’s a White Friday Night

I had looked forward to Friday night ALL week long, not because of the snow but because it was going to be a “date night” for Gene and I.  I made reservations, got a “kid sitter” and made sure Gene was off in time for us to make to Savannah.  We debated all afternoon Friday whether or not to go and at 3:30 said we’d chance it because as much as we’d like it to snow, this is South Ga and it NEVER makes it here, right?  We swung by and picked up some pants he had ordered and it was downtown to the Chart House.  I LOVE that place~ mostly for the lava cake.  Gabriel called to say that it was snowing in Glennville and they were having fun.  It was still raining as Gene and I left Savannah but as we were heading home on 16, the rain drops started getting thicker and sticking to the windshield more.  Then it turned WHITE and started coming down harder and harder.  Pretty soon I felt like we were in outer space.  Here is a view as we exited toward Pembroke.

What it was like driving….. which doesn’t really show how it was.  Pretty soon the roads were covered in white.  Thank goodness Gene was driving.

He stopped at Clyde’s in Pembroke and here are a few shots.

Of course we couldn’t miss spending some “snow time” with the kids so we headed toward town.

Once there, Gene waited outside for the kids to come out……..please don’t call DFACS, yes Gabriel is in his pj’s and Becky not much more.
