Happy 10th Anniversary to My Everything

10 years ago, you and I stood in the presence of God, family and friends to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love. 

Marriage is a most honorable estate, created and Instituted by God, signifying unto us the mystical union, which also exists between Christ and the Church, so to, may this marriage be adorned by true and abiding love.

Ten years ago, I said the following:

I, Julie, take you Gene, to be my wedded husband, secure in the knowledge that you will be my constant friend, my faithful partner in life, and my one true love.  On this special day, I affirm to you in the presence of God and these witnesses my sacred promise to stay by your side as your faithful wife in sickness and in health, in joy and in sorrow, as well as through the good times and the bad.  I promise to love you without reservation, comfort you in times of distress, encourage you to achieve higher goals, laugh with you, cry with you, grow with you in mind and spirit, always be open and honest with you, and cherish you for as long as we both shall live.

And today, ten years later, I affirm to you again this sacred promise.  These past ten years have been the happiest, most memorable times of my life and they are all because of you.  You continue to amaze me everyday.  We were charged to always cherish each other as special and unique individuals, that we would respect the thoughts, ideas and suggestions from one another.  We should be able to forgive, not to hold grudges and live each day that we may share it together- as we would be each others home, comfort and refuge and our marriage strengthened by our love and respect.  I love you more and more each passing day and there is no other place I would rather be.  As I told you over ten years ago, you are my everything and will always be………….

Just remember the symbols that we wear are two circles with no beginning and no end.  They are symbols of perfection, wholesomeness, peace and unbrokeness.  They do not symbolize possession, but that we belong with, not to each other:

With this ring, I thee wed, I dedicate my life to loving you

who God has chosen for me.

With these vows I now take, I make this solemn promise:

I will love you and only you, endlessly….. with this ring.
